The chapter opens with a flashback to the events of the previous chapter. In this chapter, we learn that Zeref created all of his demons in order to "end his way" . He also created his brother, natsu, as well as his strongest demon, and his own brother. Zeref's greatest creation was his "etherious natsu" , who was created when his "immortality became a heavy burden to bear." Zeref also created "his strongest demon" and "his very own brother," who were created when Zeref was too weak to bear the burden of his own creation. All of the demons of the book of Zeref have a "homing instinct" tied to a "certain thought," which is why they were created by Zeref in the first place. The only thing Zeref didn't do was create his own demons, because he wanted to end his own life. The reason Zeref chose to create all of these demons was because he had a "deeply embedded desire" to kill the one he needed to kill. The one he needs to kill is by his side all along. He tells us that all of the "demons" in the book were just tools he used to end the way, and that his "greatest creation" was natsu. He explains that he created the demons because he was too strong for Zeref to bear, and because all of them had an "enveloping instinct" that was tied to "a certain thought." The reason he created them was because Zeref wanted to kill him. He says that he and his parents were taken from him by the other demons, too, and now he wants to kill Zeref himself.
