In this short scene, the young girl is introduced to the main character, a girl named Lily. Lily is a member of a magical society called the "Royal Military Commander of the First Magical Warfare Division." She and her friends are fighting against the King of Edolas, who is trying to monopolize all of the magical power in the kingdom. Lily says that she is going to try to save her friends from the King. She says that they are the last remaining magical society in the world, and that it is better to go back to the world of chatter instead of fighting against him. She tells Lily that the King is talking about how amazing it is that there are so many people with so much magical power. She asks Lily to shut her mouth for a while so that she can hear the King's words. Lily replies that she will be able to do so in no time at all. She then asks Lily if she thinks she is the most amazing person in the whole world. Lily responds by saying that she would bet that he thinks he is. Lily then asks the King if it is too hard for him to follow all of this talk. He replies by saying it is. He says that it will provide the kingdom with ten years of magic power. Lily asks if he thinks it is a frog that is coming after them. Lily answers that he does not know, but he is anxious.
