In this chapter, we learn that the ice wizard, Baskin-Robbinsdale, uses his ice magic to create weapons out of the frozen substance. He tells us that his ice-based weapons are powerful enough to defeat demons, but that he is using them to create his own weapons. He explains that he has the power to freeze everything in his path, and that he can destroy his creations just as easily as they were children's blocks. He says that he inherited this power from his father, who was a powerful ice wizard. Baskin's ice magic is a powerful source of power, and he says that darkness is the source of black magic. He adds that he will become a villain if it helps him save his guild. When Baskin sees the ice lock on his friend's body, he realizes that the magic locks away his mind and makes him his puppet. He predicts that when they attempt to kill one another, the darkness will awaken within them and they will both kill each other.
