The chapter opens with a description of the underground passageways in the future. The narrator tells us that he wanted to escape the future so that he wouldn't be captured by the king's forces. He tells us he's sure everyone is worried about the future, and that the jails are full of romp breakers. The royal forces aren't there either, and they're leaving without a word. He's worried that they won't make it to the future without him. He wants to kill Gajeel, but he doesn't know how to do it. He wonders what's going on, and wonders if something's up with the shadow dragon. He also wonders if there's some kind of evil magic that's been going on. He thinks that it's coming from the future and that it might be the magic of Natsu and her friends. He calls in the anti-magic squad and wonders why the royal forces are so strong. They're kids, he says, and he can't help but wonder if they've been using magic to get away. He decides to go to the king and ask him to give them back the rogue. The shadow dragon is eating away at him, so he'll have to get out of the body of the king. He says that the name of the shadow is "lios" and that he didn't look at him when he was in his body. He swears that he will make sure that you remember him.
