This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between the Black Knight and Elmire. Elmire tells Elmire that a red flare signifies an enemy attack, and the two of them decide to go to the meeting place of the council. Elmira tells the Knight that she has heard that the legendary black wizard, zeref, is on the island, and that he is currently sleeping. The Knight tells her that they will rebuild the island's tower and revive him. The Black Knight, however, is not so sure. He says that the wizard's top generals are coming soon, and they will arrive soon to protect the island from the evil forces of the fairies. He also says that Elmire's plan to spread chaos among the fairies is a lie. The two men are interrupted by the sound of a trumpet, which means that the enemy is approaching. The Council's army is on its way, ready to attack the island.
