The prince refuses, saying that he would not have done what he did if he had been prepared for the consequences. The demon says that the prince is the rightful king and that he put the world on a path to destruction. He adds that the magic is not working, and that the people are tearing the castle town apart at a time. He wants to stop the spread of the chaos, but the prince says that they must do something so that they do not spread any further. He tells the people that they are the ones who have stolen the magic from Elmire. He calls them the "monsters" and says that anyone who defies the demon king is a monster. The king is defeated, and he says that there is no reason for the fire to stop. He also says that no one is going to kill themselves in the castle until there is nothing left.
