The chapter opens with a flashback to the previous chapter, in which we learn that the three men are discussing the possibility of an attack on Zeref's forces. They decide to follow the plan of the first master, who believes that Zeref will be defeated by an attack from the enemy. The three men decide to trust in the instincts of their leader, and they are pleased to see that he is with them. They are surprised to find that the carpet in their house is covered with enemy troops. The carpet reminds them of the carpet they burned when they first arrived at their house. They realize that they are in danger of being overrun by the enemy forces, so they decide to draw Zeref out of the way.
