In this chapter, we learn more about Yon vastia, the ice-maker. He's 26 years old, and he's become famous as a wizard because of his ice-making abilities. Yon has fallen in love with a girl named jura, but he stopped trying to woo her after the magic games ended. Everyone around Yon is shocked by his aggressive behavior toward a woman, and they've all met Yon's "pink hair" . Yon grows up in a village called Lamia, which means "the eternal flame." He thinks that the flame could return Lamia to its normal state, but the village is frozen over. He thinks the flame is really a giant mountain, but now it looks more like a mountain. He wonders if the flame wants to eat the village, and wonders why he can't just melt the ice and get it back to normal.
