In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the "ctzen" of Alvarez. He is a member of the Brotherhood of Magicians, and he does not plan to betray the Brotherhood. He does not want to fight them, however, because he feels indebted to them. He tells them that he will kill off all of their guildmates, but he will spare the three of them. The fight will end in the Brotherhood's victory, he says, because they have "overwhelming numbers and training" . The emperor is already acquiring fairy heart, and all of his friends are dead. He says that all of them are going to die, and that he is going to shatter them to pieces. He also says that the ice that made up the fairy tail was made by irene and that it is impossible for him to use that ice to make magic. He asks where erza is, and she tells him that she is in negotiations with the other Brotherhood members. He then says that his magic power has "outstripped its minumum" , which means that the enemy is the Brotherhood, not irene. He adds that irene has made the enemy immune to his magic, and this means that they have a chance to kill him. He continues by saying that if she had not found him, they would not have been able to defeat him, but it was his "premonition" that led them to this point. He warns them that they must know the identity of their true enemy, and then he will destroy him.
