In the middle of the battle, the salamander and the headman decide to take a breather. The headman wants to stay and fight, but the salamander wants to go and check on his wife. He tells her that he's not crushed, even if he thinks she's dead. He says that he used to be a member of a famous wizard's guild, lamia scale, and that the salamander can't beat them easily. He also says that they are enemies of the fairy tail, because they're after the clients of the wizard guild. The salamander says he can just break the attack apart, and he can do it alone. He explains that when he was a member, his special skill was defeating other wizards, and this meant that all wizards were powerless before him. He doesn't know what this means until he feels his fire won't stop the attack.
