The chapter opens with a flashback to the events of the previous chapter. In this flashback, we are introduced to a number of the characters who have appeared in the previous chapters. We are also introduced to some of the key characters in the present chapter. The flashback begins with a red-hot lightning bolt. The lightning strikes the protagonist's body, and the protagonist is struck by the bolt. He is unable to move because his body is surrounded by anti-magic particles. The protagonist realizes that he is at his limit, and he is forced to kill the protagonist. He tells the protagonist to thank him for saving his life, and to thank the protagonist for his friends. He reminds the protagonist of his grand father, who always put friends before his own desires. He says that he intends to protect the protagonist no matter what the outcome of the battle is.
