The chapter opens with a description of a wizard named "Gray and the Lyon" who uses ice to make objects out of it. He is also known as the "Ice Man" because of his ability to make ice into many shapes and weapons out of ice. He also has a tendency to strip off his clothes in order to use ice as a weapon. The villagers have petitioned the fairy-tailers to eliminate the village, but the wizard says that they are the ones who are trying to stop them. He tells the villagers that he is the one who has been waiting for them to come to the island. He then tells them that he knows the wizard who is making ice, too. He says that he has known the wizard for a long time, and he knows that the villagers have been asking for him to come, but he has not been able to do so. He asks the villagers why they are waiting for him, and they tell him that they want to protect the island from intruders and those who want to plot with them. The wizard replies that he does not know what the meaning of this is, and that it has been awhile since he has been in the island, but that he can handle everything there. He adds that he will not leave the island without destroying the only thing he has left behind, Deliora, who gave her life so that she could seal up the island and seal off deliora's escape. He goes on to say that the island is cursed by the rumors that it turns people into demons. He reminds Deliora that he killed her and that he wants to destroy her only thing that she left behind
