About This Chapter
The grand magic games begin. Each guild has five members, and each team is divided into two contests and two battles. The first contest is "hidden" , and the second is "battle" . Each team gets 10 points for winning the first contest and 8 points for the second. The sponsors will choose the best team to fight in each battle. The narrator says that he doesn't know exactly what the games will be like, but he's psyched to be a part of them. He's also psyched that he'll be able to watch his guild's "eve." He says he'd like to know what the game is all about. He wonders where he can hide and what the other players are doing. He thinks that the game will be a "game of hide and seek." He wonders how many times he can lose a point to someone else before he has to start again. He also wonders if he can find someone to take a point away from someone who's hiding behind a "copy." The narrator thinks that this is a good sign, because it means that he can attack someone before they do.
