The tower is dark, and the magic that it uses to make the light "stretch" and "shadow" in opposite directions makes it seem like the light is coming from one direction and the darkness from the other. The only condition for the body to be of a "wizard saint" is that it be someone who is "fit to be a saint" , but now that the body has come to this place, it does not have to be either of them. The bug that was crawling around the tower is gone, and no one is leaving it alive.
