About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a description of Jet, the member of the Shadowgear team. He is fast, and he is rumored to have once told Hero that he loved Hero, but Hero rejected him. Jet is also rumored to be in love with Hero, although he seems to have lost interest in her. The two men meet again, and Jet declares that he is the one who can defeat Hero. He tells Hero that if he were to learn magic, he would be able to replace Hero as Hero's disciple. Hero says that he has never thought of him as a replacement, but now that he can defeat him, he will do so. He asks Jet if he knows how long it has taken to melt the ice on the mountain. Jet says that it took him ten years to do so, and that he cannot defeat Hero now. He says he is going to seal the darkness away. Hero thanks him, saying that the ice melted and flowed to sea.
