In this chapter, we are introduced to a number of new characters, including a young woman named Reitei, a young man named Sambo, and a female angel named Angelica. The young woman, who we now learn is named Lucy, is a member of the lamia scale, and she has a special ability to control things that are not human, such as sherry and celestial spirits. She also has the ability to close a golden gate, a feat that Lucy has never been able to accomplish before. When she asks why he did not kill the gray child, he replies that he would have killed the child even if it were not for his dislike for the child. Lucy wonders if he still has some feelings for his former colleague, and if he thinks that he can kill the child with no hesitation
