About This Chapter
Chapter 418 opens with a conversation between the editor of the newspaper and the protagonist of the story. The protagonist tells the editor that he's late for the match because the crowds were so great. He's bummed that he hasn't been able to work for the newspaper for the past year because he'd rather be with his friends. He also tells the protagonist that he wants to report back on the match so that he can write an awesome article about it. He says that he doesn't want to be a part of the "fairy tail" , which is a term used to describe the magical creatures that live in fairy-tale worlds. He wants to find out what's going on with the fairy tail, so he goes to the match. He finds that the protagonist's guild, Scarmiglione, has been hiding its true power from the public. They've been trying to cheat the public into thinking that they're the best guild in the world, when in fact, they are the most powerful. He thinks that's because they've all been hiding their true power so that the public can't figure out that they are. He then goes on to say that Scarmaggione is now the richest guild in all of Florence, and that everyone in the royal family has fallen in love with him, too. He asks the protagonist to hurry the crowd out of the arena so that they can figure out who's really good at fighting and who isn't.
