Carla and the rest of the humans are furious at the land wizards for killing all the animals except for the lucy woman. The land wizards are as violent as they are, and they have no use for lucy. Carla says that she made a promise to protect the earth and that she is the one who completed her duty on earth. She tells the humans that they are foolish, inferior beings, and that they stand above them and guide them. She says that six years ago, the queen sent a hundred exceed to earth to help in the rescue of the queen. The humans were programmed to hunt down and kill the slayers after they hatch from their eggs. The anima created by the humans led the humans to another possibility. What they really wanted, she says, was you. She explains, was to leave their convalescent power to the magic of the fairies. She led them into the tunnels to save the humans. She wanted to make sure that they were not killed. The orders went from killing to capturing.
