In this chapter, we are introduced to a number of characters who are important to the plot of the story. The first is the master of the guild, who is also known as the "Father of the Guild." He is the one who created the guild and who has to protect it from evil. He tells the others that he has a secret plan for defeating the enemy. He says that if they knew where they were going to be landing, they could better plan for the battle. Everyone is gathered together to prepare for battle, but they do not know what is going on.
