In this chapter, Balthazar tells his story. He was abandoned by his mother and sent to a magic laboratory, where he saw that his mother was living happily with two other people. He returned to the laboratory and learned that zeref was still alive, and that a dark guild was pursuing him. He decided to return to his mother's home to get revenge on her. He also learned that the time arc was incomplete and that the one who mastered it would be a time traveler. He begs the grenads to help him in his quest to complete the time-arc.
