In this chapter, the monster sings a song about the power of time, and how it can be harnessed to cause havoc in the universe. The song reminds the monster that he has promised not to cause a "beast tide" , which is a term used to describe an event when all the races of the universe come together to defend a sacred place against an attack. The monster says that he will sing the song for the rest of the day if the song is repeated, but he will not repeat it if it does not make him feel better. He tells the monster to come with him to confirm that he is indeed the person he said he was. He asks the monster if he is trying to kill him because of the bald man from the previous chapter, and the monster replies that he must die. He says that the three killers he sent are dead, and he wonders why he is feeling this way.
