In this chapter, Cai Ming and Ren Ming discuss their encounter with their mother. Cai Ming says that his mother must be his fear incarnation because she has been absent from heaven for so long. He also says that he saw her head through the eyeball of the mud monster he killed in the cave. He wonders how she became his fear. He says that when he killed the monster, he saw the woman's head through its eyeball. He asks Ren Ming if his mother is really his mother. Ren Ming replies that he has never met his mother before, so it is hard to know if she is telling the truth. He feels that the soul of Luo yan is weakening, but that the monster is still there. He decides to let the monster go. He tells Ren Ming that he is afraid that they will be killed today if he had not become their fear incarnation. He wants to tell Ren Ming and Cai Ming that their father arranged the universe so that they would grow up in this era. He adds that if he hadn't, he would have been afraid of them being killed today. When Ren Ming asks what is wrong with them, he says that most people cannot survive the first crisis.
