Chapter 966 opens with a flashback to the beginning of the book, when the narrator explains that his grandfather was a godlike warrior who created the divine realm to help the li people escape. The statue of his grandfather is probably the statue of chiyou, because the narrator's mom told him that it was his grandfather's statue. The narrator wonders why the statue trembled so much. He wonders if chiyou had to create a retreat for his people. He also wonders if there are other beings in the bottom of the chaos who are cursed by the Chaos ancient god. He feels that chiyou would lie to him to get them involved in the plan. He says that he needs to learn more about the meaning of goodwill, malice, and so forth. He has already learned three thousand words in six hours. He compares the sword to an ordinary sword, and says that if he wants to use the sword, he must understand the true meaning.
