In this chapter, the monster recalls his encounter with the shadow creatures. He realizes that they are the same creatures that he chased when he first encountered them. He wonders if the ancient Shamans were the ones who cursed the gods. He tries to catch one of the skulls to see if it contains a shadow creature. The skulls crack and creak, but the monster can't get rid of them. Finally, he gets close enough to the purple light on the tree to destroy it. He remembers that the demon lord was haunted by the skulls after he killed the creatures. The monster decides to wait and see.
