In this chapter, the second-year student explains how the "eight-curve flying smoke" works. He compares it to a picture of a sphere with eight holes, which contains a ray of black light that penetrates all eight holes. This is the first time he's ever been through a "divine retribution" , and he tries to evade the ray of light, but it's too powerful for him. After mastering the eight-curve-flying-smoke technique, he can't even scratch himself. He's worried that he'll have to stay three inches away from his opponent in order to continue using the technique. He wonders what the other creatures are doing in the cave, since they're "level 11 divine beasts" .
