In this chapter, we learn that the Great One has already refined the last of the desolate bone. Fu-chu wonders if he can ask his brother for a favor before he leaves. The rays of the sun will spread over the entire world and destroy everything that is outside of the bone towers. He tells his brother that he is bound by the curse, but that he can't join the exiles because he doesn't want to become a god. He says that within three years, the "light of adjudication" will come and they will be able to get rid of the other faction's troubles.
