This chapter's epigraph comes from a poem by Duan, which was written in the middle of the 19th century. In the poem, Duan compares the divine realm to the mother world. He tells Duan that the original divine rulers were the saint race. Duan explains that the blood-sucking technique that Duan uses to split up the saints is extremely vicious. He explains that his father was a very popular man at the time. He agreed to stand with Duan's side against the guards of the Heavenly Hall of Saints. He was wounded by chunjun, but he escaped because he was afraid that the guards would kill him. He is now hiding in the darkness because he will not be able to escape once the Heavenly realm is destroyed. He says that his grandfather is dead. He asks Duan if he is his grandfather, and Duan tells him that he is. He also says that they have come to the sun temple together, and that he will be the captain of the ship.
