In this chapter, the monk explains that the chief of the neighboring village has given him three months to leave the village. He says that he will leave the people of the village to the monk, but that if the chief comes again, he will destroy the village for them. He explains that he has not known what is going on in his inner world for long, and that he would try to keep an eye on it during his meditation. He tells the monk that the village chief is approaching, and the monk says he will protect the village, even though he is a divine cultivator. The monk then tells the story of the evil elder, who is rumored to have died many years ago.
