In this chapter, the young master explains that he has an epiphany about the nature of the five elements, and he does not want to see the monk ever again. He says that if he had known how to solve the problem of two conflicts, he would have been able to do so, but ordinary gods cannot afford even a refined elixir. The young master tells the monk that he did not invent the method of overcoming the two conflicts by himself, but that it was passed down to him by a nameless senior. If the monk were not from any of the floating island families, then he would not believe that he came up with the method by himself. If he were from one of those families, the elixir would have taken him 10,000 years to reach the rank of a mid-ranking god. He explains that the monk is not a genius, but merely an ordinary cultivator. The monk says that he can nominate him for the entrance test, but the method the monk taught him is more valuable.
