This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between the two swordsmen. The swordsmen are discussing the possibility of using the "needles" as a weapon against the other swordsmen in the battlefield. Although the swordsmen agree that the use of the needles would be a good idea, they do not think that it is necessary yet. They believe that the needles can draw in other peoples' energy, and use it to their own advantage. They decide that they will use the needles whenever they want to.
