This chapter opens with the master of the cloud hall, Luo zheng, telling his servant, Cui xie, to go away. He tells her that he will not leave until she comes out and tells him what has happened. He then asks her to come out and tell him what is going on. When she does not come out, he asks her why she did not tell him earlier. She tells him that she heard that the city of Xuzhou has fallen and that she has nowhere else to go. She then asks why the master didn't tell her earlier that he and Luo were in love. He says that he is the superior of the two, and that he does not need to tell her when they met. He asks her if she really needs to know when they first met. She says that she is the "body of stellar yin" and that they cannot allow her to fall into the hands of her lover. He orders her to stay with him in cloud hall for now. He wonders how she will react when she finds out that they were lovers
