In this chapter, the reader is introduced to the concept of "simple" and "enlightenment" . It is clear from the beginning of this chapter that the reader does not want to be intimidated by the idea of fighting a god-sea realm cultivator. He is confident that he will be able to defeat the man, but he is also aware that his chances of victory are low. He realizes that the man's defense is tight and precise, and that his sword attacks are not as effective as those of the man. He wonders if there are flaws in his sword techniques, and wonders if he might have hung up too much on sword techniques. There is another layer beyond the simpleness of the sword, which is the "ultimate form of simplicity" , which means that there are no fancy techniques. The test is not yet over, and the man realizes that he is no match for him. He begins to beat himself up for not being able to kill the man himself.
