About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, in which the narrator explains that he is in the middle of a trap in the city of Lianyu. He has caught a mid-stage disaster realm cultivator, who feels like he is a projection of his soul. He tells the narrator that he needs to gather the souls of the civilians of the city in order to create his own projection of soul. The narrator asks the man if he is from the central area, and the man replies that he was from the viridian realm. The man says that his soul is even weaker than the man's, and that he has run away since he already came to the city. He says that the soul of the man has impurities, which must have come from countless people. He adds that the other souls must come from the civilians, because he is using a method of gathering a wisp from all those civilians and combining them with himself. This is a wicked skill, the narrator says.
