About This Chapter
In this final scene, Scully and Regan discuss the events of the previous night. Scully tells Regan that he has prayed for her and that he knew she would come to him. He tells her that he can do to her what he has done to her and now that she is dead, she needs another sacrifice. He says that the darkness is over and that angels will control everything. Scully says that he thought angels were supposed to be good guys, but that they are sure that hell isn't the good guys. He goes on to say that if he ever needs it back, he can ask. He promises that he won't ask for it back. If he ever does need it, he says, he'll ask. Scully reminds Regan that she has something that belongs to him and that she can use it to get away from the witchblade. She says that she'll have it along with her head. Scully asks Regan what she wanted to do when she found the man about to stab him. Regan tells him that she shot the man before he stabbed her. Scully then says that they have whatever they need to explain what happened. They'll tell a story that's consistent with what's happened in the past. Scully promises that once they sell their version of events, they'll mysteriously disappear. Scully wonders why Regan didn't call him.
