The next issue opens with a description of Sara's encounter with a mysterious Chinese man, who asked her to help him defeat demons that had escaped from the underworld. Sara tells the man that she will not help him because she does not want to honor his wishes. She tells him that the demons are not animals, but humans, and that they eat flesh. The man is shocked to learn that Sara has not been able to find any of the souls that she had hoped to find in the underworld when she was there. He tells Sara that he has seen the turn of the demons from being animals to being humans. He also tells her that the man has found out that he is not a demon, but a man who has chosen his path. He says that he will not return to the police station to save Sara, but will instead help her.
