About This Chapter
"Rebirth rebirth then" is the title of this chapter. It's a metaphor for the end of the universe, and it's also a reference to rebirth, the rebirth of one's soul. In other words, rebirth is the beginning of a new life. This chapter is all about rebirth, rebirth of the soul, and rebirth of rebirth. The narrator tells us that he's been living in Chicago for a while now, and that's how long it took him to get back to the real world. He's not sure if he would have gotten back if he hadn't had to go back to Venice, but he does know that he wouldn't have been able to stay in the city if it weren't for the witchblade. The witchblade, he says, has given him a lot since he picked it up, and he would've been dead without it. He says that the witches are all "ghast for each other" and that they couldn't tell anyone about their love. He admits that at first he didn't understand why he needed a place to live, but now he realizes that he doesn't deserve to be in touch with his girlfriend or wife. He also says that his sister, Sara, has gotten her life back together after a "rough spot with drugs" . She's got a new apartment, and she and her friend, rubio, have been hanging out together. He thinks that rubio thinks that he is weird, but that he has a good boyfriend
