Back in New York City, the cops are still trying to figure out what's going on with the murder of Jessica. Jessica's a student at Queens College, and she's been beaten up by the creep. Jessica wants to know why the cops didn't tell her about it. The cops won't do anything about it, she says, because they're too busy trying to catch the murderer. She wants to go to the police station and tell them what happened, but the cops don't want to talk to her. So she goes to the subway station and waits for the cops to show up. When they do show up, she tells the cops that she saw Jessica get beaten up and that the creep hit her more than once. She asks the cops why they haven't told her about the beating, and the cops tell her that it's because the cops can't stand to be around someone who's acting out of protocol. Jessica says she deserves special treatment or something, but she doesn't know what else to say. She's just trying to get out of the station. She runs into a cop named Petruchio, who tells her that he's there to see if he can catch the killer. He's not sure what to do, since the cops have already caught the murderer, and he doesn1t have enough time to catch Jessica. He tells the cop to bring Jessica to his office, but Petruccio won1t do it. Petruccio says he'll just take the blame for the whole thing on himself. He leaves to get Jessica on the phone.
