About This Chapter
In this second part of the story, we learn that the protagonist is now nine years old, and that his mother took him to see his first ballet on his ninth birthday. The protagonist tells his mother that he wants to live in the world of the ballet, but that he's not quite there yet. He tells her that Sara is a "psychopath" with "serious mommy" and "daddy issues" . He doesn't want her to get "twitchy" , but he does want her "to get twitchy" so that he can "turn up" and kill her. He wants her to put the gun down and "get rid of" it, but she's too busy with her mommy and daddy to do that. So, he tells her, "you're not paying much attention to her . . you don't really know what you're doing." He wants to know where she took her, and if she took the "witchblade" from her little friend. He says he'll take his time with her. First, though, he asks, "what happened to your specific brand of compulsion?" . What happened to his "bad deed" followed by a "good deed" ? What did it get him ? He asks if "nobody understands me," and if he can be "shouting, whine, whine." . And then he asks if Sara is pregnant. She says nothing major, and he says that she was just hanging on to her shoulders. He feels like his shoulders are getting ready to "pop out of sockets," and that's when he realizes that the witchblade is ready to kill him. He wonders if Sara will wake up, or if she'll eventually be able to get up and call the shots. He's worried that she won't wake up and that he won'
