About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that two years have passed since the last chapter, and that the case against gallo has been dropped. We learn that gallo was acquitted in the first case, and this time, he was charged with possession of a controlled substance. This time, however, the evidence against him was circumstantial, so he was not convicted. The narrator tells us that he expected to see Nelly, but that she has been disconnected from her cell phone. He says that he has been trying to talk to her, but she does not know what happened. He tells her that he will not stop what he is doing, and he tells her to stand by and prepare to attack the ship. He reminds her that they have procured the ship from the "bastardly island," and he says he will show her the "most hideous things" it did to the people who tried to steal it. He threatens to show them the "bleeding sons o rats" if they try to steal the ship, and then he will "show" them the bloodied bodies of both of them. He will not let Nelly enter the ship before they give it up, or else he will be "rottin' ye dogs" to fight them in their own battles. He asks Nelly if she understands him, and she says that she does, but he does not understand her like she did. She tells him that he is trying to impress her, and they will fight
