Sara is a police officer in New York City. She has cut herself from all of her family and friends. She tells her partner, Jaques, that she's going to have to prepare for her first encounter with the "witchblade" . Jaques asks her why she doesn't get warm, and she tells him that it's cold. She says that even though the meat in the man's stomach wasn't human flesh, it was spiked with bovine growth hormones, which means that the man was growing his own meat. She thanks her mother-in-law for giving her the gift of meat, and thanks Jaques for taking her to dinner. She goes on to say that her investigation had been "a complete bust" because of the way in which the people in her city were consuming her meat.
