Back at the police station, we learn that the guy in question has served two years in prison for drug trafficking. He's got a new plan: he's going to find the guy who sold him the drugs. The guy is going to tell him where he can find him, so he can get a job. The police station is a "stage name or whatever" , and the guy doesn't even have to answer any questions that might incriminate him. He just has to be "innocent until proven guilty" . So, basically, the police have nothing against him, and they're just going to let him do whatever he wants with his life. This is the first time we've heard of the "uptown police station" before, so we're not sure what it's all about. It's basically a police station where you can be arrested and thrown in jail for anything you do. The cops don't care if you're innocent or guilty, so long as you've been proven guilty. So the guy's just got to get his life together ASAP, pronto. He tells the guy that he needs to be reminded about how the "once dry trade" works in uptown. He says that if he has his own code of "street ethics," he'll be better than the "monsters" because "the animals want fun." He also says that the police should be reminded of how they do business with the "cyberdata technologies" : they buy artifacts, send out monsters, and then they kill people after they've done business with them.
