Now that the Gyantse have defeated their enemies, they're ready to attack the city. Gleaming, the curator of the statue, asks what's going on. He wants to know who the thieves are, and he'd like to know more about the statue's origins. The curator explains that the statue was given to him by a boy named kali as part of his training. The boy wanted to learn the secrets of the afterlife, and the statue gave him the knowledge. The statue was said to possess tremendous power, and eventually it passed into Gleam's hands. He asks the curator to give up the statue for him, but the curator says he's not sure if he'll be able to outwit the thieves. The guy asks Gleam to give him the soda he bought from the vending machine at the police station, but Gleams not so sure.
