About This Chapter
"The witchblade" is an ancient term that describes a balance between darkness and light. It can do almost anything, protect you, destroy something, heal someone, and so on. It's called a "balance between the darkness of the world and the light of the universe" . The narrator tells us that he's not even going to start the "witchblade" , because he doesn't want to waste food on it. He says he had a weird dream the night before, where he felt like he was "sucked up by" something. He feels like he needs to get out of the house, he says. He's still a student on a budget, he tells us, and he'd like to get some money out of his mom. He tells us there are antiquities in the room, but they haven't really tried to sell him anything. He also says that he likes a good catfight as much as a next guy, but tries to play nice with the ladies. Sara asks him what's up, and the narrator tells her that he came to see what was going on. She asks him to show her the witchblade, but he says it's just not real, and that he used to thin it when he was a kid. He asks her why she wants to give it away, and she says that she's been trying to find an answer for a long time, so she needs to give her a chance.
