About This Chapter
The cops ask Carrie if he remembers anything from the past few hours. He says he doesn't remember anything. They arrest him for murder, and Carrie swears she didn't do it. Carrie says he's not sure if his memory holds up. They ask if they can talk to the doctor, and he says he hasn't done anything yet. They want to talk to him about his wife, who's been working for him on some murders. He admits that he has done some work on her, but says he can't tell her what's going on. He's sure the doctor is back in his office, but Carrie thinks he has something to hide. He thinks the doctor has a medallion that lets him control anyone he'd worked on, and then he uses it to kill people. He wonders why the doctor's medallion lets him do what he does. He also wonders if the doctor can relate to the disfigured kids in his high school yearbook. The cops decide to make some calls to the police department to see if there's anything they can do to help.
