About This Chapter
"Almost Human Redemption Part 2" In this second part of the story, we learn that Dr. Alphonse and his team of scientists have made great strides in the field of artificial intelligence, but that they would not have been able to do so without Dr. Wolsey's help. He's the one who's made all of this possible, and he deserves a lot of credit for it, Wolsey tells us. He also says that it's nice that he's more pragmatic than the other scientists, because it means that they won't have to worry about Sara's safety now that she's back at the lab. Dr. Wollaston, meanwhile, thinks that the incident is a facility breach, and wonders if it might be her. He adds that they need to be able to test their new technology against someone of superior ability, so that they can sell the new brain boxes to the highest bidder. He tells Wolsey that his first assignment was to test his new weapon, the new york police shield number 1011, against someone who was superior in his field. This was to make sure that the new weapon could be used against an opponent who was better than him, and so that Wolsey could prove that his new technology was superior to the man's. He wants to sell the brain boxes so that he can use them against the man. He doesn't want to kill anyone, he says, because that would be a violation of his contract with the police department, which says
