About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that we're introduced to a number of new characters, including David, who's now known as "the witchblade" , and his assistant, christina, who is now called "the ink artist" . We learn that the ink artist, Michael Turner, has been replaced by a new guy named "the lansang ink artist," and that the new guy is named "Jigar." David's still bummed out that he doesn't have the "witchblade" on his body, but he's also worried about the fact that the murderer of his partner has such a powerful weapon. He's hoping that the killer will keep the number of people killed to a minimum, so that he won't be able to kill so many people. He also wants to call on the local police to find out what's going on with the local gang members. David is also worried that the witchblade will make him even more anxious. He wants to know why he hasn't been punished for his part in the murder of the partner. He tells us that he'd rather be punished than be in a place where he feels like he can't even talk to his own self. He asks if he can talk to ana, and she tells him that she's already left the syndicate. David asks why, and he asks if ana wants to associate with him. He says that his greatest talents are wasted as a "mere assassin," and he wonders if he should associate with ana so he can ask why he didn't join the syndicate earlier.
