In this chapter, we're introduced to Detective Lee Kim and his assistant, Sara. They've been hanging out in the park, talking trash about how awesome it is that they're the only two cops in New York City who can kill people. We're also introduced to a few of the other characters we've met in the book, such as Jessica, who's a prostitute, and Jessica's sister, who works as a prostitute. We also learn that Jessica is pregnant, and that she's been having an affair with Detective Kim. We learn that Detective Kim is a member of the precinct squad, which means that he's on the front lines of New York's crime scene.
