About This Chapter
In this short scene, we learn that we're back with David and his sister, christina, who've been hanging out at the cemetery. They're not really dead yet, but they're definitely mourning. David tells his sister that he's not even dead, but that he needs to "rest" and "memorate" like a real person. He tells her that his dream was about a "witchblade" on his wrist, and that he called it "the witchblade" because it reminded him of the blade from the Bible. He asks her to tell him her "rejuvenating secrets" , and she tells him that she heard her sister's story about the "rialto" and that she'd bet that she tried to get something out of it. She tells him to "come on po it" . She also tells him about a psychologist who asked him if he really wanted to be a cop, and he says that's what he wanted to do, but he didn't want to do it because he'd had a dream about the witchblade. He's still not paid his rent and he doesn't know what's going on. He wants to get a cab to take him to the police station, but his sister says that she can't go because she's "dangerous" and he should be gentle with her. She reminds him that he did a show a year ago for her, and now he wants to pay her a visit. He says he'll do it, but it's too late. He also says that he has no witnesses and no prints, and the cops hate him for finding out what they don't. He points out that he knows the "friend" of the "nottingham" case, and they both know that the police are "freaked out" about the murders and the scandal. David asks his sister to assess the situation, but she won't do it.
