The action shifts to the police psychologist's office, where sara is waiting to see if she's ready to join the team. The psychologist tells her that she'll have to do whatever it takes to bring her daughter back, and punish those who committed the crime. As sara walks toward her husband, he asks her a question: "clean bill of health." Predictably, she doesn't take it well, and he tries to talk her out of it. The scene shifts to a different part of the building, where the south tower is still standing. sara and her sister are in a cemetery, and sara tells the story of her sister's death and her baby's disappearance. She's wearing a different outfit than she was wearing earlier in the story, and she says that someone named Jackie Estacado is in the cemetery, but no one knows who she is or what she is talking about. She says that Jackie is actually dead, and that there's nothing the reader can do about it.
