About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that the third crusade is just around the corner, and that it's time for the knights to get ready. He's glad that they're there, because it means they'll be able to kill the new guy who's trying to woo Sara. He also tells the audience that he's the one who found Sara, and she's been waiting for him all day. He tells them the story of Bartholomew, who was flayed in the Crusades and then crucified on the cross. This time, he says, the skin on his body was peeled off. It's a totally different story, but it works. The knights are standing around holding their "dicks" . The narrator says that if he'd known this was going to happen, he would've gotten there earlier. He asks the detectives why they didn't have a chance to go on the grounds, and they all agree that it would be easier if the job were more like the one they've been doing. The detectives ask the narrator what's up with the flayed corpse, and the narrator says he doesn't know, but he'll have his permission to shoot him anyway. The detective asks the narrator why he always seems to be at the center of these cases, and he tells the detective that he has a bracelet with some sharp edges. He begs the Lord and savior to grant him his "vengeance eye" for an eye. He wants to meet Sara, who just called him in a panic. He says that Sara has fallen asleep in the nook, and hopes that she'll wake up soon. He has a plan
